LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - January 6, 2011) - After giving fans a taste in 2010, Golden Globe Award-winning actor and comedian Tim Allen returns to stand up in a big way in 2011 with a ten-weekend Las Vegas residency in the 742-seat Venetian Showroom.

"We're thrilled that Tim Allen has chosen The Venetian as his Las Vegas home," said Chris Yancey, executive director of entertainment at The Venetian and The Palazzo. "Tim's legion of 'Home Improvement' fans will now get the chance to see him do what he does best."

The sitcom star is eager to remind the world that he can wield a microphone as easily as a power tool and safety goggles. "It feels great to be doing standup again," said Allen. "It is where I got my start and I love making a crowd laugh. Las Vegas audiences are my favorite; they're just looking for a fun time and The Venetian Showroom is the perfect venue."

Allen's role as "Tim the Toolman Taylor" in the ABC series "Home Improvement" catapulted the actor to fame in the '90s. After an eight-season run, the "toolman" hung up his belt and launched a successful film career. On the silver screen, Allen is best known for voicing the popular Buzz Lightyear character in the Disney/Pixar's "Toy Story" franchise and for playing a disgruntled Santa Clause in Disney's three "The Santa Clause" films. Most recently, Allen made his directorial debut in the 2010 independent comedy "Crazy on the Outside."

An acting veteran, sitcom icon, New York Times best-selling author and renowned standup comedian with a successful 20-year career, Allen will headline 10 weekends in The Venetian Showroom throughout 2011. Performances are Feb. 5; Mar. 4, 5, 11, 12; Apr. 1, 2, 8, 9; May 20, 21; Aug 5, 6, 12, 13; Oct. 14, 15; and Nov. 4, 5.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices are $55.75, $75.75 and $95.75, inclusive of tax and handling fees. A limited number of VIP Packages, including preferred front-row seating and a meet-and-greet with Allen, will be available for $145.75, inclusive of tax and handling fees.
